Several people have been injured in Washington, D.C. after several people heard sounds that they thought was gunfire.
Police did not find any evidence of shots fired, Washington police Commander Guillermo Rivera told reporters.

Police are looking at video footage of the event to see if they can figure out what might have caused the panic which injured several people.
A man was arrested when police found a firearm near him, however, the weapon did not appear to be used.
