A writer for Niche Gamer had an interview with Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi.
At the end of the interview, the writer opened up and told Nagoshi that he was happy about the Yakuza games, and the fact that it felt authentically Japanese and didn’t try to cater to Western gamers, was something he enjoyed a lot.

After this, many writers from Kotaku, VG24/7 and other gaming outlets attacked the article.
Some even claim it’s against gaming journalistic ethics, which is ironic, as many of the writers were accused of violating gaming journalistic ethics in the GamerGate controversy in 2014.
