CNN’s Chris Cuomo has joined Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in calling migrant detention centers “concentration camps.”
He even went as far as saying “I say concentration camps as that’s how they are defined internationally, that’s what these are. I am not equating with the stigma of the Nazi’s and the Jews. Satisfied?”
Not only is that a reporter unworthy comment, but it’s also factually incorrect.
As stated in the story HERE, these migrant detention centers are nothing like concentration camps.
Cuomo a few moments later states that “America first” and “Nationalism” do have a Nazi connotation.
He also claims: “Nationalism has been used almost exclusively. Let me know what movement defined itself as Nationalism that was positive.”
Again, factually incorrect comments and unworthy of being on a “news” channel like CNN.
It is true that bad actors have used the “America first” slogan years ago to promote racial segregation, however in the story HERE, we see that Socialism has done more harm than Fascism ever could, and it’s still seen as “acceptable” in 2019.
Nationalism isn’t by definition a bad thing, Nationalism, Liberalism, Conservativism are all acceptable ideologies.
Nationalism is an “ideology and movement characterized by the promotion of the interests of a particular nation, especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining the nation’s sovereignty (self-governance) over its homeland.”
French, Dutch, Belgian and Polish Nationalism created the resistance forces within territories that were occupied by Nazi-Germany.
Dutch Liberalism, for example, ensured equality for all who placed a foot on Dutch lands, well before the US had the Civil Rights Act.
But Chris Cuomo doubles down and even denies the extermination of Jews, committed by the Nazi’s.
Even though CNN itself talks about extermination camps.
